Tournament format: each school year is its own round-robin festival. Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 all have their own standings and their own trophy winner. There are no knockout rounds. Teams play the other teams in their age group once.
Morning session: Year 2 and Year 4 teams should arrive by 8:45am, check in with coaches at the admin stand by the pitches, and be ready for 9:00am kick-off. This session is due to finish by 1:00pm including presentations.
Afternoon session: Year 1 and Year 3 teams should arrive by 12:00pm, check in with coaches at the admin stand by the pitches, and be ready for 12:30pm kick-off. This session is due to finish by 4:30pm including presentations.
Match format: 7-a-side, 5 minutes each half, 1 minute half-time and a 4-minute turnaround between matches. Please keep teams close to the pitches so the festival stays on time.
Scoring: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a loss. If teams finish level on points, positions are decided by goal difference first, then goals scored. Medals will be provided for all participants.
Rules: retreat rule for static goal kicks, kick-ons instead of throw-ins, no headers, players can play up a year but not down, max squad size of 12 per year-group team, players attend the school they represent, and referees have the final say. Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. The ethos is fun for all, with spectators encouraging and respecting players, referees, coaches and each other.
